Everything the Indian citizens need for a successful Vietnam visa application
All the Indian citizens need a visa for Vietnam for both tourism or business purposes. Nowadays, they can easily apply for Vietnam visa at the Vietnam Embassy or apply online to pickup visa at arrival airport.
Vietnam visa is required for all Indian citizens;
Indian citizens are eligible for maximum 90 days single or multiple entry e-visa;
Indian citizens can get visa on arrival with pre-arranged approval letter;
1. General information
– The processing time for Vietnam visa is normally 3 working days. In urgent situation, a visa can be done within 1 business day or 2 working hours;
– The Indian travelers must have a valid passport of 6 months validity at least with 2 blank pages for visa sticky and stamp;
2. How do Indian passport holders apply for Vietnam visa?
2.1. Apply online for a Vietnam visa on arrival
Indian visitors can apply Vietnam visa on arrival from anywhere outside of Vietnam. Vietnam visa will be picked up upon arrival at the Vietnam airports by showing up the printed approval letter.
The approval letter will be sent via email within 3 working days (normal processing mode), 8 working hours (rush processing mode), 4 hours (urgent processing mode) or even 2 hours (emergency processing mode) depending on which option the applicant chooses when submitting online application form. Vietnam visa on arrival is especially an advantage to those living far from the Vietnam Embassy or Consulate in India.
By using Vietnam visa on arrival, the Indian applicants do not need to wait too long to get the approval letter, an official document issued by Vietnam Immigration Department giving permission to get the visa upon arrival.
In order to get a Vietnam visa on arrival, the applicants should pay two types of fee: the processing fee and the stamping fee.
Processing fee: The service fee is for visa approval letter processing.
Stamping fee: The stamping fee is paid in cash to the Vietnam Immigration Officer at the arrival airport to get the visa stamp.
Notes:
– Visa on arrival is only applicable for the foreigners traveling Vietnam by airplanes.
2.2. Apply for e-visa for Vietnam
This is new pilot visa system which has just official launched in February 2017. In order to apply for e-visa for Vietnam, the Indian travelers will need to prepare a file of passport copy and recent taken photo (it should present your full face, front view, eyes open without glasses, background should be plain light colored or white). The e-visa fee (service fee and stamping fee) is paid once when the Indian applicants apply for e-visa, thus no cash is required at arrival airport.
Vietnam e-visa is good for those who travel Vietnam less than 90 days with single or multiple entry. Since the visa fee is paid once when applying for visa, the travelers don’t have to bring cash for stamping fee at immigration counter therefore, the visa process at arrival airport is faster accordingly.
When applying for e-visa for Vietnam, please note that:
- Payments for e-visa applications are non-refundable;
- The applicants should check the information on a granted e-visa against the passport to make sure there is no mistake;
- The processing time may take longer than 3 working days that probably affect to your flight time. You are strongly recommended to buy a flight ticket when you already received your e-visa;
- The applicants have to leave the country before applying for the next e-visa.
- While your visa application is being processed, you may receive a request for amending your visa information. In this case, the processing time will take more 3 – 5 working days after the revision is made. - Some Indian citizens have passports that contain their given name only but not surname and middle name; some people have only year of birth but not full date of birth. How to apply e-visa for Vietnam?
Step 1: Fill the requirement information in the visa application form.
